Student for Trees

The 2020s have been declared as the Decade for Ecological Restorations. An important component of this movement are tree plantations. Starting from Janurary 2023 to December 2032, we will be working with student groups, schools and colleges to plant 1 million trees. If you are a student or youth group who wants to get involved, contact us here.

A Holistic Approach

Mass tree plantations are becoming the “go to” solution for most governments, organizations and CSR projects in efforts to fight climate change. However, majority of these tree plantations are highly unscientific and are in fact casuing more ecological damage! Planting non native species can prove disastorous. For example, India is planting hundreds of massive (non native) monoculture plantations, in the name of afforestation, in grasslands. With grasslands already under immense antropogenic pressure, this is proving costly. Not only are non native plantations, such as eucalpyptus, affecting the water cycles, but also threatening endangered species, such as the Great Indian Bustard. Furthermore, monoculture plantations do not contribute to biodiversity significantly.

It is for this reason, we plan all our plantations very meticolousy, ensuring only native plants are used. Morevoer, we are trying to increase plant biodiversity by including various species. If you would like to contribute, please fill up the form below:
