What are the main threats to the Amazon Rainforest?

This makes the Amazon rainforest an important part of the global carbon cycle. It plays a crucial role in helping to slow down the pace of global warming.

However, the Amazon rainforest is currently facing numerous threats, which are consistent across rainforests globally. This includes including deforestation, climate change, agricultural expansion, mining, and the illegal wildlife trade. These threats have significant implications for the forest’s biodiversity, the livelihoods of indigenous communities, and the global climate.
